Argo CD

What it is

Argo CD is a free, open-source tool for delivering applications to Kubernetes using a GitOps workflow. It treats Git repositories as the source of truth for the desired state, then compares that state with what is running, displays differences, and can synchronize changes automatically or manually. It supports Kustomize, Helm, Jsonnet, YAML and JSON manifests, plus configured custom configuration tools, and can deploy to multiple Kubernetes clusters. A web interface shows application activity, while a command-line interface supports automation and CI integration. Access controls include multi-tenancy and role-based permissions, with single sign-on integrations such as OIDC, OAuth2, LDAP, SAML 2.0, GitHub, GitLab, Microsoft, and LinkedIn. Argo CD also provides access tokens, audit trails, and Prometheus metrics. Its free plan is free for a self-managed installation. Local accounts lack features such as groups and login history; the documentation recommends SSO when those are needed. A non-high-availability installation is not recommended for production use.
