What it is
ApS-Ethos is CadCam Technology’s embroidery software suite, available in six levels: Organiser, Writer, Creative Writer, Innovator, Artisan Plus, and Virtuoso Plus. Its digitising tools let users load or scan image and vector artwork, then translate it into embroidery designs with automatic tools. AutoStitch converts image and vector files, including AI, EPS, and DXF. Designs can also be sent from Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator into Ethos for conversion. Smart Text adapts embroidery text to its selected size, adjusting letter openings, underlay, and stitch density. Organiser stores designs in an MS Access compatible database that can be shared over a network to store, transfer, and monitor designs. It imports and exports major industrial machine formats and supports networking to embroidery machines. Virtuoso Plus is described for customers producing many designs and for production environments, design departments, and colleges. Pricing is available on request, and prospective purchasers are directed to the maker’s main dealers. Registered users can download updates from the members area. The maker says development of its laser cutter software has stopped; support for critical issues and Ethos v18 and v19 was offered until the end of 2025.
