Amazon Translate
What it is
Amazon Translate is an API machine-translation service for moving text between 75 supported languages. It provides on-demand real-time and batch translation for multilingual applications, company or user content and incoming text in multiple languages. Website and document translation are supported, along with glossary tools. Active Custom Translation uses parallel-data examples to adjust output at runtime without requiring customers to build and maintain a custom translation model. Real-time calls allow up to 5,000 bytes per API call. Batch jobs accept up to 5 GB per call, with individual documents limited to 20 MB and 1,000,000 characters; supported formats include TXT, HTML, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX and XLIFF. AWS documents integrations with Comprehend, Transcribe, Polly, S3, DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, Lambda and Glue. AWS says content is encrypted in transit and at rest and customers retain ownership. It may store and use processed text to operate and improve the service, with an AWS Organizations opt-out policy. Listed pricing starts at $15 a month for standard text translation and batch document translation.
