Aerokube Moon
Tallinn, Estonia
What it is
Aerokube Moon runs browser automation sessions in a customer-managed Kubernetes or OpenShift cluster. It supports Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and Puppeteer; Selenium compatibility follows the W3C WebDriver specification and includes standard capabilities and features. The cluster determines how many browsers can run, while the license sets the concurrent-session limit. Without a license key, Moon allows up to four parallel browser sessions for unlimited use. A paid license costs $5 a month for each parallel session, with the total scaling by session count. Aerokube recommends installation with its Helm chart. The interface can list and filter active sessions, show browser screens, and launch sessions for manual testing. Optional tools include video recording, mobile emulation, clipboard access, file transfer, and browser developer tools. Moon can capture network activity in HAR format and upload it to S3 when S3 is configured. It exposes Prometheus metrics, including session counts and limits. Moon 2.x has no built-in authentication by default; documentation describes ingress authentication and sidecars.
For and against
For
- Supports four listed browser automation tools.
- Free use allows four parallel sessions.
- Session interface includes browser screens and filtering.
- Offers optional recording and mobile emulation.
- Exposes Prometheus metrics.
Against
- Requires a customer-managed Kubernetes or OpenShift cluster.
- Free use is limited to four parallel sessions.
- Moon 2.x has no built-in authentication by default.
- HAR capture requires S3 configuration.
The verdict
Moon provides browser automation sessions within a cluster teams manage themselves, with license-based concurrency and optional session tools. Plan for authentication configuration and S3 setup if those capabilities are needed.
Who it suits
Moon suits teams running browser automation in Kubernetes or OpenShift and needing a configurable pool of sessions. It may also suit testers who want session visibility or optional recording and network capture.
